So, I decided that I should break up the zoo pictures. I have alot and will post them in segments. Clare LOVED the snake house. She looked at each and every lizard, snake, turtle, and other animal in it. I don't know where her interest with snakes comes from.
Stay tuned for more of Clare's adventures at the Fort Worth Zoo!!!
We are having a good weekend, and the rain hasn't been enough to damper it. Yesterday, after Boot Camp and an eye exam, I had a "playdate" with a child in my class. She's been asking me and asking me to come to her house. So yesterday, I did. Jacqueline is 5 years old and a wonderful child. We ate lunch, made art with stamps, and played her version of Chutes and Ladders in which she won all but one game.
Then Chris and I took Clare to Toys R Us to get a chair. She picked out a Tinkerbell chair (thank goodness she didn't want the princess one). We ate a good supper at Macaroni Grill.
Today, we were off to the Fort Worth Zoo. Clare was in great spirits and had a wonderful time. She was fascinated with all the animals, especially the snakes and elephants. She picked out 3 rubber snakes to take home as souvenirs from the gift shop. Surprisingly, they were only 99 cents each. After a good rest, we had pizza for supper and a trip to Walmart. I got her a Tinkerbell toy to continue to try to discourage the whole princess phenomenon.
Tomorrow, if things go as planned, we will grill out for lunch and make homemade ice cream. Clare has swimming lessons tomorrow night and I have Boot Camp.
Chris is taking a week off of work so we should continue our good times.
I will be posting pictures of her Tinkerbell chair and the zoo adventure.
Well, I only had one of the classes last week. On Saturday, it was raining (it started Friday and lasted most of the day) AND I had a migraine. That makes 3 that week. One on Mother's Day, one on Thursday (my PreK class zoo field trip day), and on Saturday. I think that alot of it has to do with whatever type of weather front brings in the rain. I am starting to see a trend. Anyway, I am off to boot camp tomorrow. Hope I can make it. I did Curves 3 days last week in addition to the camp and I want to do it 4 days this week. Wish me luck!!!
I signed up for a 4 week boot camp. It is 3 days a week; however, I am only doing 2 days since Chris is in Chicago on Wed. and Thurs. I go on Mondays at 7pm and Saturdays at 8am. Yesterday was good. The running killed me. I ran a mile in 12 minutes. The other stuff wasn't so bad. I did 28 situps in 1 minute and 29 pushups in 1 minute. I was really sore, but not so bad today. I do go to Curves too, so I am doing that 3 days a week in between the boot camp. I hope to have some successes to brag about when it is over.
By the way, we are dwindling down to only 2 and a half weeks of school left. I am so ready for it to be over and to work part-time this summer.
Scotch turned ten years old this week, so that makes him 70 in dog years. He's been an amazing dog that Chris and I spent only $100. He's very friendly and wonderful around everyone. He's got a great temperment, too. He's only had recent health problems diagnosed and treated this year---cataracts, arthritis, and a heart murmor. He takes medicine for the arithritis and the heart murmor. In fact, he got on heart medication the day of his birthday. Despite his age and grumpiness, he's still young at heart. I think it helps that we have Annie and Chopper around to entertain/annoy him. He goes to doggie daycare every Friday and knows when it's his day to go. He had a birthday party there yesterday. I provided Lickety Splits from Three Dog Bakery for all of his friends. These treats are peanut butter and carob ice cream cups. I have included 2 pictures. The first from when he was just weeks old and the other is a current one. We cherish the time we have left with him.
